Contagious Faith
I am gonna talk to you for the next several weeks about contagious faith. We are gonna be discussing contagious Christians and how to be a contagious Christian. There are 4 things that should motivate all Christians go to the book of 2nd Kings 6th chapter 24th verse. Stand with me for the reading of the word of God. We are gonna start at verse 24. Scripture says;
24And it came to pass after this, that Benhadad king of Syria gathered all his host, and went up, and besieged Samaria.25And there was a great famine in Samaria: and, behold, they besieged it, until an ass's head was sold for fourscore pieces of silver, and the fourth part of a cab of dove's dung, that’s doves manure for those that don't know for five pieces of silver
In other words there was such a famine in the land they were eating dove manure not only eating it but paying for it on top of it. They were selling the heads of the mules. This was a great day wasn’t it. a great day people were truly starving to death go down now to 2 Kings 7th chapter starting at verse 3
3And there were four leprous men at the entering in of the gate: and they said one to another, why sit we here until we die?
Now their in the same gate where their buying dove manure for 5 pieces of silver. Their at the same place they are starving like everybody else. What had happened was the king had surrounded the city, surrounded it completely where nothing could come in and nothing could go out.
We got four lepers here that say why sit here ‘til we die
4If we say, We will enter into the city, then the famine is in the city, and we shall die there: and if we sit still here, we die also. Now therefore come, and let us fall unto the host of the Syrians: if they save us alive, we shall live; and if they kill us, we shall but die.
5And they rose up in the twilight, to go unto the camp of the Syrians: and when they were come to the uttermost part of the camp of Syria, behold, there was no man there.
6For the LORD had made the host of the Syrians to hear a noise of chariots, and a noise of horses, even the noise of a great host: and they said one to another, Lo, the king of Israel hath hired against us the kings of the Hittites, and the kings of the Egyptians, to come upon us.
7Wherefore they arose and fled in the twilight, and left their tents, and their horses, and their asses, even the camp as it was, and fled for their life. Meaning they ran and left everything there was nothing left
8And when these lepers came to the uttermost part of the camp, they went into one tent, and did eat and drink, and carried thence silver, and gold, and raiment, and went and hid it; and came again, and entered into another tent, and carried thence also, and went and hid it.
