I Don’t Have Time
2 Corinthians 10:4-5 “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to thee pulling down of strongholds; Casting down imitations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ…”
The Pharisees would never have chosen Simon the zealot to be a disciple, they wouldn’t have chosen Matthew to be a disciple. They most certainly would not have chosen Paul to be a disciple, the radical that he was. They certainly wouldn’t have picked cussing Peter nor would they have chosen the sinner woman as she was worshipping Jesus. Yet, she was worshipping while they were watching. It didn’t work well with them, if you understand what I’m saying. They never would have people like that because, quite frankly, that didn’t fit their mold, it didn’t fit with their religious thoughts.
They would never have chosen a drug addict to be a bishop. No, if it were up to the Pharisees, I wouldn’t be preaching today. I happen to be in the top one percent of that batch that nobody would have ever thought of choosing. The church ladies would come by the house and assure Lynn, “It’s OK, one of these days he will get right with God.” She told them, “God won’t have anything to do with him, he’s the devil himself.” She believed every bit of that. And I was every bit of that. In fact, when my kinfolk got wind that I had been called to preach the gospel, my nephew asked, “What in the world is he up to now?”
As a result, I lost so much time. Years and years and years. I lost so much not ever knowing what God’s plan was.
Let me show you something in Daniel 7:25 “And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws…” The spirit of the Antichrist seeks to change the times and seasons in order to wear you out. Satan will frustrate you in your plans in order to deter you or get you in a place out of season.
